What is stuttering my pc on PUBG?

My pc is stuttering very hard in PUBG on some spots on the map, especially when i am in the parachute phase. My cpu is the xeon x3470 and my gpu is the rx 460 2gb.

I play battlefield 1 on high settings with stable 55-60 fps(single player).

Is my cpu weak for that game or just the games is unoptimized as hell? I have everything on very low and my vram is still ~ 1900 -1940 mb of usage. My gpu is always 100% usage.

Also always when i exit game for a while my pc is slow and the HDD is 100% of ussage. My pc specs can be found here

Game is poorly optimized, the RX460 and X3470 are not very powerful.

The RX460 isn't a powerful card. If it's hitting 100% and you are using a spinning disk, that sounds like your problem.

the game is still beta so let's hope my pc will run it smoother when it comes out on December but still i think my ram is also not enough and i have 8 gb of ram..

Why focus only on the ram?

That means your GPU is either waiting on data from your CPU, RAM or Storage.

You need to figure out what is making your GPU load drop. It could be the game is loading a new area of the map and it's pulling data from a drive. IF this is the case you need a faster drive, perhaps an SSD.

Note that i play battlefield 1 very smooth on high settings at ~55-60 fps (Singleplayer). Also my hdd is not that bad, i don't know why it would bottleneck. It could also be the cpu ?

It could be anything. Thermal throttling, disk caching, bugs in game, etc.

Stuttering is happenning mainly when new data is loaded. E.g when i drive a car and new data is being loaded every second or when i go to a new place on the map or when i get down with the parachute. Do you guys believe my system is weak or it is a game issue?

Sure sounds like the drive is too slow. Another option could be your CPU is too weak to load data and feed the GPU at the same time. Did you give system specs?

By watching other videos on youtube on i7 870 it seems it stuttles too, so it is a cpu issue. Is there anything i can do to other than hoping for them to optimize the game?

Is this your system? An old i7, slow 1333MHz ram, an RX460 (which scored a meager 28%?) and old spinning disks? Of course that setup will have issues. You meet the minimum specs all the way around. Issues are to be expected in this case.

Here is a video with the same cpu as mine. As you can see in this video,the most stuttering is from 02:08-02:50 and 14:50- 15-32
(parachute phase) and generally when you drive a car and things move fast and new map data needs to be loaded

But even if he has an identical system to yours, and his is glitching as well, what does that tell you? That both your systems aren't up to running the game. I wish there was a simple thing you guys can do that would make it all playable by changing one value, but there isn't. Lower and CPU with low end GPU means you get choppy game play. It sucks, but there you are.

BF1 is optimized to run well on multi-threaded cpus. PUBG is not. This is one reason why BF1 would run smoother on your cpu vs PUBG.

Bottom line: you cpu is old and will struggle with any new games, especially those that run on 1 or only a few threads. There isn't any getting around it.

I'm not going to comment too much on your rig other than to say it does have pretty low single thread performance (like a slow core i7 920) and the 460 is not exactly a AAA gaming card for higher settings.

What I will say about PUBG though. It is buggy. If you have Chrome running or even tab out of game start chrome and close it it will do what your video did. If you have network latency it will do what your video did. I don't want to condemn your machine as I've found PUBG quite playable on rigs from G4560 with GTX 970 up to 7700K with 1070 and R5 1600 with 980. But you have to be aware of the glitches and bugs in the game and not run anything beyond skype or discord outside of it...it hates other programs.

I hope so too although I think this is more about Unreal Engine than the PUBG game. If you haven't tried Fortnight Battle Royale mode give it a try; I don't actually like it but it's an example of a properly optimized Unreal Engine game that does almost the same thing as PUBG since Epic made it and they made the Unreal Engine(although it's far too cartoony for my taste) and it's free so no loss if you hate it.

Okay i have downloaded and installed fortnite. I play that game at 1080p with medium-high settings at 50-60 fps and almost no stuttering. I have noticed my cpu is getting hotter when playing Fortnite unlike PUBG. Also my CPU usage is 75% in fortnite, unlike PUBG where it is only 50%.

Okay both games are using unreal engine and fortnite appears to be better optimized but it seems it is lighter than pubg since the graphics are cartoon and not so realistic as pubg (in high settings of course)
