what is the best gtx 1080 brand for cooling ?
i want it for 1080p 144hz gaming and i wont upgrade for a while
im looking at the asus strix 1080
what temps should i expect for gaming with it ? .. and is there any better cooling brand ?

Solution

It has a slightly higher clock rate, but cooling tends to be the same across majority of the cards at that level so take any with 2 - 3 fans from EVGA, MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, Zotac.
I seriously don't want to sound biased and my case is probably not a good example as I'd never heard of them. But I bought a Manli gtx 1080, it's a triple fan and it never goes above 60c while gaming. Got it new on ebay for $515 can't find them that cheap now but they're still available. It's turned out to be an amazing card. I game at 4k @60hz and while not maxed out fps are good and temps are even better, OC'D as wel. Figured id share

does it have orange lines on the fan side ?

Asus STRIX is good. Similar rivals would be the EVGA FTW SC version, or the Gigabyte Aorus. MSI Duke is also good.

If you want extreme cooling, look for the EVGA FTW Hybrid version of the 1080.

so asus is the best air cooling ? ..

I wouldn't say that at all.

The EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2 has HUGE fans and they run very cool.

I OCed mine to the moon (GPU and Memory) and it still didn't hit 70C running Superposistion.

so what should i go with now ? xD .. i feel lost and i dont know what to do

Depends on what you want really.

im leaning towards the strix because my motherboard and i really like the rgb
but will sacrificing all that be worth it ? .. is the temp difference that big ?

There will be no visual difference. If you put the two systems together side by side with each card you could not tell them apart. Maybe on a benchmark there would be a difference in score, but in the real world, nothing.

When it comes to overclocking, the cooling is good enough for each card that is will only come down to the silicon lottery. Even then, the difference in overclock wont be noticeable in the real world, only a benchmark.

The EVGA FTW2 has RGB also.

not on the back plate and it doesnt sync with asus aura
