What Is The Best Hard Drive Setup For A Gaming PC?

I am planning to build a gaming PC in the near future, and I am curious; for my desktop Internet machine builds, I have a combination of SSD boot drive and HDD storage, and that works well for me. How ideal is that for a gaming PC build that will be for gaming only? Is that worth it, or should I just invest in a big fat 1TB or more SSD and have done with that?

So, say:
Samsung 970 EVO 250GB M.2 PCIe SSD (OS boot drive)
WD Blue 3TB HDD (installs & media files)
Inland 1TB (game libraries)

Meh - 1tb 860 evo or mx500 in m.2 form and be done with it. Only 500gb here six months in and no issue but I only keep about 3 games installed at a time. 1tb should be plenty - if not, seek counseling.

Edit: the 960/970s aren't all that in real life. Save the $.

As opposed to the Inland SSD? I do have a MX300 as my boot drive in my main desktop machine and it's been working beautifully for months now.
