Question What is the best inline filter for a custom loop?

Hi, All,

I want to use an inline filter in my custom loop. None of the filters I have seen are much more than some rather coarse mesh screen put into the loop. These really do not seem, to me, that they would do much more than keep the guppies out of the hardware! (You add guppies to eat the algae!!!😉)

But seriously: why not put an automotive fuel filter into the loop? Very cheap, fine particulate filtering, all plastic to avoid corrosion.

Am I missing something here? Or is there something offered that is more than a metal mesh?

I do not know the answer to your question, but would a car fuel filter allow enough fluid flow, and how often would it need to be changed?

There may be a very basic reason why those are not used.

What is the flow rate for that type filter vs the flow rate of your pump?

Flow rates? I don't need no stinking flow rates, just clean coolant!

Great point, I will try and find out....maybe put together a test loop.

And what about the guppies???
