Question What is the best laptop that I can buy for $5k right now?

I had my laptop stolen and my insurance company has given me up to $5k to replace the system. My previous system is as follows:

Alienware x17 r2
19-12900hk
64 GB RAM
3080ti
4k screen
2TB ssd
4TB ssd (added after purchase)

What would you replace this laptop with? The only requirements I have is that it is neither an Asus or Apple.

Without being particularly helpful, where I understand the Apple part, what happened with ASUS that you don't want to deal with them?

Might look into DreamMachines (I think is the name of the group). The Toasty Bros on YT just did a pretty good review on "the most expensive laptop you can buy" with an external water cooling module that kinda works.

What would you replace this laptop with? The only requirements I have is that it is neither an Asus or Apple.

Dell knocked it out of the park with the new Area 51 line. The biggest changes from the previous m18R2 is a display update and MUCH improved cooling. The 275HX is a faster and much more efficient CPU than the 14900HX as well.

If you have $5k to spend you will not be disappointed.

Your old laptop was pretty solid—a 3080Ti with 64GB of RAM? That's literally a portable workstation!
If you don't want an ASUS or Apple model, the Alienware m18 or Razer Blade 16/18 will do just fine.
The MSI Titan is also a respectable option if you don't mind the extra weight.

I'm currently looking for something close to this category so I'll follow the recommendations here.
