Looking to get a new monitor right now for the new computer setup. I did some light research on this before but forgot a few important things. I know that I want a 1ms setup and a possibly a 24 inch screen ( I have a 22 inch one now). I still want to retain a high FPS rate in the games I play so I don't want to go too crazy with the size of the monitor. Currently I have a Samsung 2ms syncmaster 226bw. This one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001096&cm_re=samsung_2_ms_monitor_226bw.-_-24-001-096-_-Product

The monitor is going to be used to play FPS games so I want a great setup with that. I faintly remember there is a difference between IPN monitors where it is either good for a lot of different viewing angles, which this is something I don't care about so much if that takes away other advantages a monitor can give.

if you want the fastest response times guess you are looking at a TN panel rather than ips

resolution in my opinion 1920 x 1080 if up to 24 inch 2560 x 1440 if over 24 inch

i have a gtx970 and went for 27 inch at 2560 x 1440 though i picked an ips panel as wasnt too worried about 1ms response times--every ones eyes are different so the better colour viewing angle of ips was more suited to me

Ahhhhh, that is it, TN panels vs. the IPS ones. I knew it was something like that. Yeah, I would love a great view monitor but really want a fast response monitor. It would be great if you "could have your cake and eat it too" but it seems as with most things you have to give one thing up for another.
