I am new to pc gaming and need s monitor. My pc specs are (Intel i5-7400 3.0GHz, AMD RX 580 4GB, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB 7200RPM HDD, WiFi, Win 10 Home). Should i get 4k or stick with 1080p? Should I get 60hz or 144hz?

Then it's not just about Frequency then. I'd target a freesync panel, personally I like IPS panels.

What size were you thinking? I don't game much if it all anymore but I have two older teen boys and a girl, they game at mostly first person shooters. RB6 Siege, COD etc with some other stuff tossed in. The boys both like 24" 1080p freesync monitors for gaming the girl plays more stuff like Skyrim and WoW and uses a 27" 2K. The boys have RX 580's, the girl a GTX 1070.

4K is bit much for an RX 580, it will game most titles at 1440 with reduced settings though. Freesync is like a godsend when frame rates drop.

The aoc 75htz freesync is probably one of the best buys for any of the amd rx cards - If you're usa its out of stock at the minute but its worth pre-ordering at that $99 price because its pretty much a $150 monitor in reality.

$99 at best buy too,add the $10 4 year warranty & youve got a great deal for a very good screen with a 5 year warrarnty for $110.

Like the above poster said, 4k is bit much for the 580. 1440p is only possible with reduced settings.

Thus, if you want max settings, 1080p with freesync is the way to go.

This is a 1080p 144Hz Freesync monitor with 1ms. Pretty good.
