seems like I'm the only one who has one of these...Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5900, AMD TK-57 1.9GHz, 3GB ram. I was wondering if anyone has opted to upgrade the cpu in this model, I want to replace the TK-57 with a TL-60 or better. I know the motherboard socket is S1 an the TK-57 works 31 watts, I can get various cpu's with in the S1 socket format will a wattage diffrence be an issue, looking into AMD only and battery life dosen't matter to me, what is the mobo compatabillity? This laptop has been with me a while and has done things most Desktops only dream about, I opened her up recently and I'm pretty confident the swap will go well, I'm typeing this on the very same laptop...anything (even flames) would be great to see on this...

and I win again, I have this older Shuttle with a LGA775 socket type replaced a 533FSB Celeron D 345 3.06GHz with an 800FSB Pentium 4 HT 630 3.0GHz works very well I'm remoted to it while typing this

Update The L305D-S5900 is still kickin' and I still use it, I've upgraded to Windows 10. I had a time with the video driver, I had to get the Windows 7 Driver from Toshiba and unzip it then install the driver via device manager... I tried to install it in compatibility mode but kept getting BSoD. It's stable now and I have fun conversations with Cortana about setting the alarm and checking the weather. I watch Netflix, use Windows apps...one day though I'll have to put Ubuntu, Mint, or Manjaro...and hunt for video drivers
