what is the best ram type for laptop? ddr1 or ddr2 or ddr3 ?

They don't make laptops with ddr1 and 2 anymore afaik. If someone tries to sell you one with that then its a very old laptop.

DDR1 and 2 are obsolete..

The "best type" sort of question is not relevant. These memory types are not interchangeable. You must use whatever the laptop/notebook being considered uses.

DDR3 is the current standard and is faster than both DDR and DDR2. DDR3 also uses less power.
