A good friend of mine and I were talking about upgrading our CPUs towards Haswell and he offered me a grand deal. He has an i7 2700k clocked at 4.5 GHz. He has had EXACTLY 364 days and tomorrow marks one year with it LOL. He has it over volted +0.60 above stock (1.32v). It runs PERFECT and he's selling it to me for $310 ALONG with his mobo for free. Now the i5 4670k and the mobo I was looking at was around $400 together.

What do you think? I currently have an i5 2400 and I'm getting a GTX 780 this week.

What's the motherboard you are purchasing? Do you game more often or video edit? Make sure to test all the parts, and get him to prove he has stress tested his CPU (prime95, 16 - 24 hrs), as an unstable overclock may mean headaches for you in the future.

Also, what is his motherboard?

I game more. I don't exactly need the extra cores of an i7 but it's nice to have one. We did about 3 hours worthy of stress testing earlier today and it did perfectly fine.

His mobo is a Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3.
