what is the difference between a mini itx and a macro atx?

Assuming you mean Mini-ITX and Micro-ATX, the differences are size and the number of expansion slots. The Micro-ATX motherboard has three or (usually) four expansion slots. The Mini-ITX board will have between zero and two expansion slots. A Micro-ATX motherboard is unlikely to physically fit within a Mini-ITX case.

yes, i did mean micro. that was a typo, sorry. *sigh* so much for my planned build. would you happen to know if these types of micro atx cases would have enough space to fit a gpu in along with all the other hardware? since they are the only ones i like look-wise in the micro atx department.

if standard size GPUs you will have no fiting problems, but high range GPUs are usually longer in size, so you most see the case max GPU lengh suported to see if it fits before buying a GPU

More than likely, these cases will only allow for low-profile (also called half-height) graphic cards.
