as far as most of cards goes, its just heatsink difference (better cooling = better performance) as they mostly have same reference board design
some cards have factory overclock
some cards will cheap out on some board components
some have dual bios (one for performance, one for low power/low noise)

but as far i can tell, all of them are limited by 8pin PCI-e power plug, so performance pretty much depends on cooling on those cards
