Question What is the difference between Vantec NexStar DX and DX2 External Optical Drive Enclosures?

I plan to buy two external optical drive enclosures for my Blu Ray and DVD optical disc drives for whenever I need to burn and rip audio CDs. The PC case that I choose for my next gaming PC is unlikely to have optical drive bays. I am looking at the Vantec NexStar DX and DX2, but I am not sure what the differences are between them. Could someone explain the differences please? Would I be better off going with the DX and save roughly $40 or go with the newer DX2? I am also open to alternative enclosures and options.

Differences are the dimensions, the aesthetics/design and the OS support. I would go for DX2 since it's the one that was recently released.
