I'm trying to access my computer at home from a remote one that is very slow so I can use 3Ds max remotely. I've been using Logmein for awhile now but it's kinda laggy and it's going to be paid only pretty soon. What is the fastest remote desktop program (preferably not needed to be installed) that would make it easier to work on 3Ds max? Also any ideas for a work around to this problem would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just use Remote Desktop Built into windows but you need to know the IP address or Domain name of the PC you are connecting to and then you also have to port foward port 3389 on your Router and also on your PC.

If you don't want to deal with all of that you can use Logmein.com which is free. Just make an account and install it. then you can go to logmein.com on any browser and connect. Only thing is with the free version there is no Mapped drives or local printing or anything. Gotta pay extra for that.

I just have a DYNDNS setup for my home router and login to my DYN Domain. It does all the work of my IP address for me.

Windows Remote Desktop, but change the default port number as hackers do scan for active RDP's on this port. With your router, just port forward to the 192.168.x.x address of your destination pc. Note that your IP may change when the DHCP lease from your ISP is renewed, so a good way is to signup to a free dynamic dns service that your router supports and then use that instead of an ip with remote desktop to connect, for example cocothemooncat.dyndns.com:3389
