i dont really see how the fx is better for gaming. the kaveri showing 10% better single thread performance than my 6350 is at the same clock rate. just over 4.4ghz
of course a i5 would be better but there is something about amd i cant let go of.
Yes the single thread performance is marginally better in some applications, but you are still left with 4 fairly weak cores. At least the FX CPUs can have more "fairly weak" cores.
If you must stay AMD, then the 8350 is the best price/performance CPU.
I made a order for a Xeon for the first piece of a new build but i cancelled because i enjoy overclocking and how much of a real performance increase does any gamer really get with one of new haswell i5's when overclocked. I mean they are so strong out of box.
Kinda down on the FX because AMD released the 9xxx series instead of a 28nm chip... so much power and needing a liquid cooler.
I wish they would hurry up and release a Kaveri with 8 cpu.
