What is the real use of i72600k.i5 2500k and i3 2100

In a budget the Intel® Core™ i3-2100 is a great processor and will give you solid results in most areas. For a gamer the Intel Core i5-2500K is the best processor on the market for performance and value. The only area where it falls short is when you reach up into high-end audio/video creation or some other heavily multi-threaded application in that environment the Intel Core i7-2600K would offer better results.

In the end it all comes down to your budget and what you are going to be doing with computer to find the best processor.

Well gentlemen I doubt this a open amd thread up for debate ? eh ? I have to mention the phenom 955 120-140 $ compared to the core i5 which is 220 and the i-7 which is like 300 ? Sure there great for gaming but, I cant really see spending the extra mulah on it. And you can OC the 965 pretty good. I am a non attorney spokesperson nor an amd fanboy :p

:heink: I know  but id rather not spend 220 on a cpu BUT IT'S SO GOOD  it's like choosing between awesome steak or sweet savory lobster....I mean one of thems cheeper (deepending where you live) :kaola: but Someone's going to want one more than the other...but still love the other. Oh and im 15 ? why should that matter ?

Well, Even the blind can see that the i series is superior. But for the lower guy there both good :p

I partially agree with Trolling Troll as I think I think AMD has a better low-budget (or should I say "I'd rather put my money elsewhere") offering than Intel. For the price of the i3-2100 for example, you can get an PII-955 or PII-965 which are both quad cores and not a hyperthreaded dual-core. Is there a recent "builder marathon" that would compare similarly budgeted systems between AMD and Intel?

A while back, there was this article on sub $200 gaming cpu's:

Everything is Fine but your GFX Card and Ram.

For a 550w PSU You Would need to lower the ram to 4gb (8gb is needed if your gaming, 4gb is PLENTY)

And the GFX Card is a Bit Power Hungry, As I Listed Go with the GTX 460 or 470 both Run games at that res Perfect with your other parts, they dont use near as much power at the 560ti either. Definitely go with the GTX 460/470.

of course this is for gaming

Almost all of the power supply requirements come from the graphics card configuration.

Assuming a normal complement of a couple of hard drives, dvd, fans, etc here are the suggested requirements for different nvidia cards:

GTX550ti needs 400w with 24a on the 12v rails plus one 6-pin PCI-E power lead.

GTX560 needs 450w with 24a on the 12v rails plus two 6-pin PCI-E power leads.

GTX560Ti needs 500w with 30a on the 12v rails plus two 6-pin PCI-E power leads.

GTX570 needs 550w with 38a on the 12v rails plus two 6-pin PCI-E power leads.

GTX580 needs 600w with 42a on the 12v rails plus one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI-E power lead.

GTX590 needs 700w with 50a on the 12v rails plus two 8-pin PCI-E power leads or 4 6-pin power leads.

ok what about my config can i go with that config..

Corsair550w is fine for a GTX560ti.

6950 is a comparable card to a GTX560ti. Buy vased on any other factors than performance.
Do not worry about the ram, each card will have enough. More than is needed is for marketing purposes.

Your latest list looks good.
