all these processors are great and belong to different price segments. it only depends on your budget coz all of them are capable to handle high end graphic cards. i3 2100 is also a great gaming processor for budget pc's and you will not face much bottle necking with the mid-high end cards.

Well gentlemen I doubt this a open amd thread up for debate ? eh ? I have to mention the phenom 955 120-140 $ compared to the core i5 which is 220 and the i-7 which is like 300 ? Sure there great for gaming but, I cant really see spending the extra mulah on it. And you can OC the 965 pretty good. I am a non attorney spokesperson nor an amd fanboy

I know but id rather not spend 220 on a cpu BUT IT'S SO GOOD it's like choosing between awesome steak or sweet savory lobster....I mean one of thems cheeper (deepending where you live) but Someone's going to want one more than the other...but still love the other. Everything is Fine but your GFX Card and Ram.

For a 550w PSU You Would need to lower the ram to 4gb (8gb is needed if your gaming, 4gb is PLENTY)

And the GFX Card is a Bit Power Hungry, As I Listed Go with the GTX 460 or 470 both Run games at that res Perfect with your other parts, they dont use near as much power at the 560ti either. Definitely go with the GTX 460/470.

Assuming a normal complement of a couple of hard drives, dvd, fans, etc here are the suggested requirements for different nvidia cards:

GTX550ti needs 400w with 24a on the 12v rails plus one 6-pin PCI-E power lead.

GTX560 needs 450w with 24a on the 12v rails plus two 6-pin PCI-E power leads.

GTX560Ti needs 500w with 30a on the 12v rails plus two 6-pin PCI-E power leads.

GTX570 needs 550w with 38a on the 12v rails plus two 6-pin PCI-E power leads.

GTX580 needs 600w with 42a on the 12v rails plus one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI-E power lead.

Corsair550w is fine for a GTX560ti.

6950 is a comparable card to a GTX560ti. Buy vased on any other factors than performance.
Do not worry about the ram, each card will have enough. More than is needed is for marketing purposes.
