[SOLVED] What is the technical difference between Seagate Backup Plus Portable and Seagate Expansion Desktop?

why does the expansion desktop require a external power supply and costs 11$ less(Rs 800)?

The backup plus has a 2.5" hdd inside. It will have slightly lower performance (which probably doesn't matter for your needs). But more importantly, small is sexy, and that'll cost you extra.

I typically find that larger 3.5" drives are made better and offer faster speeds than 2.5" hdd's. They tend to be more reliable and probably about twice as fast.
