I just recently purchased a samsung ssd evo and come to realize after installing it that my hdd power cable wasn’t working, it’s not a normal molex connector, it has 3 pins then a space than one more, same on the motherboard, no idea what this cable is called and really need one

What model of "Samsung EVO SSD" do you have. Should be a 3 digit number, 840,850, 860,950,960,970, etc

For any 2.5" or 3.5" SATA SSD or HDD, the power cable looks like this:

And the data cable looks like this:

actually it’s not the cord for the samsung evo, i have those, it’s a hdd power cable that goes from my motherboard to the hdd i have, i purchased a prebuilt (worst mistake of my life) and i’ve never seen the cable before, i would send a picture but i’m not sure how to do that on here

HDD power cables come from the power supply.
HDD data cables go to Motherboard, second picture w/red leads
a 4 pin cable w a wire missing, just a guess DC fan or leds
i have a very weird prebuilt pc, asus rog g20 if you will, but it uses two laptop power supplys that just plug into the back of the pc, also has laptop memory if you were curious how weird my prebuilt is

Ah, so the power comes from the mobo instead of the PSU since it's a custom design.

Just use the same cable that was powering the HDD (that you're presumably replacing) to power the SSD.

If your cable is damaged, you'll probably need to contact Asus, since this is a special/proprietary cable. (I couldn't find anything on Ebay by searching "Asus ROG G20 HDD cable")
