haha

Interesting thread, to say the least. I am completely jealous of your situation, sir.

Heh, I noticed this thread was cited in the new Gateway FX530XT review.

It's a conspiracy. LordGeek's story is a fake!

😀

Be careful, no one is allowed to question the validity of the stuff Lordgeek tells us. You will be dealt with accordingly(beheaded), if you require more proof or ask to many questions along those lines.....

Thanks
wes

Return it?
Why?
It is a unique, cpu, very rare one of a kind, you can purchase many QX6700 on the market, but that cpu that you have is very special. I would keep it just for the hell of it.
As a matter of fact, If you are planning on retuning it, I would contact AMD and have them reverse engineer it, Im sure that they would give you a better deal that Intel would

Besides Intel is huge with 17 fabrication labs, whereas AMD only has 3, so It would definetly help them in their cause for superiority

Thats what I would do if it were me.

The only drawback to that is that you couldn't tell us how much money you got from AMD...

I don't think they let inmates post in online forums anymore...

Do you really think AMD doesnt have at least 50 Core 2 chips of every flavor in their testing laboratories? Besides that, when it comes to stuff like that, these guys don't play around when talking about industrial espionage. They'll quickly turn you in. Getting past the ribbing that they give each other when it comes to their products, these companies are not only highly professional, but have high regard for each other.

I have the same chip.... Was looking to identify the chip because I didn't recognize the "ES" markings. Found other people were getting 5.5ghz overclocks with Ln2 cooling. That made me confident that we bought a solid cpu. Was suspect for $400.00. Now I know why. Was suspicious about the B0 stepping, third spin of the copper, sixth spin was retail. 🙁 . Welp ill try it out, if i don't like it, ill repeat the steps previously stated by LordGeek.. lol this is too funny. Ive been coming to toms for over 6 years now, first time posting. Not the first time toms has helped me. 😀 . The retail that sold me mine is listed within this thread. Again too funny.. Isn't it ironic? Ill post pics soon.. Rest of the system im building for my buddie consists of: a Kandalf LCS · VD4000BWS case, G-F 8800gts 640 evga flavor graphics card, 2gigs Ocz's reaper 9200@1150Mhz memory, ASUS P5N32-E SLI LGA 775 nForce 680i Intel Motherboard, 2, 78gig 1500rpm raptor and 1, 500gig 7200rpm westren digital harddrives, Ocz's 750w sli power supply. Picks and video of all and assembly to come. 😗

thanks to all who have intelligently contributed to this thread.
