I didn't open an email but I have this square thing in the upper left of my phone.
Any idea what it is. I'm guessing its some sort of trojan or viruse
How do I get rid of it.

It was there when I opened my phone.
The problem is I don't know if its dangerous or not. If I swipe down how will I know what its going to do. Is there a better way to get rid of it>
I have aura antivirus I just ran it and didn't find anything.
It would be great if someone here can recognize it.
Why would it be dangerous? It's just an icon notification you have never seen before. I've got my phone 2 years ago and it still happens to me. Just swipe down to see what it is. If it's really a virus (and I am sure it's not) your are already infected anyway and swiping down won't change anything.
You mean the Auto Rotate Screen symbol? If you have the Auto Rotate Screen option turned OFF in your Settings the symbol appears whenever you rotate your phone from Portrait to Landscape position and vice versa. If you rotate your phone and everything appears sideways you touch the symbol and everything on the screen rotates 90 degrees so that it appears normally readable.
Updates can and do change things without specific approval or consent by end users.
Or something else you approved or consented to caused it to happen.
Likely "pre-approved" or "automatic" acceptance/consent being buried in the EUA's hard to read font in the fine print. Or some other notification such as an email that may not have been entirely clear....
