This monitor is Samsung SyncMaster B2030. It's 12 years old. This white patch developed 2-3 months back. It isn't an issue normally except when I am using dark mode OR playing a game that has a lot of dark scenery. On white background, its unnoticeable.

Can this be fixed? I know it has lived quite long now but there is no point in not fixing it.

EDIT : I am adding few more images(taken with a digital microscope) of different color backgrounds- Black, Green, Red and Blue. Each background has two pictures, first is the patch area, second one is normal screen area.

Burnt panel, the only fix is replacing the whole thing, is better to buy a new one
Is it like burn in of oleds? Or something else, cuz I cannot see any particular image that has burned there, just rgb pixels seem to have become visible over some black layer which is supposed to diffuse them, i guess.

Yeah, burnt panel refers to things like that too, those are leds that for some reason stopped working and cant provide the correct colors, usually they get stucked in a single color individualy, sometimes is all black, other times is white, and others have colors, you can check for some images/videos to compare what you have, I might be wrong tho, but that's pretty similar to the burnt panels I've seen

I think you are correct about pixels getting stuck on one colors and unable to block white light. I checked with a digital microscope I had lying around. I have edited the question with few pictures. Thanks. If you think this is something else, let me know.
