Hi,
I asked Asus Support what type of Display you have on Laptop model ASUS Vivobook Go 14 , E1404FA.
They replied it's TN IPS??
What is TN IPS?

I know it as either TN or IPS or VA or OLED?
TN IPS is a new concept to me. I am asking here just to be sure.
Thanks

my guess considering the details page for the laptop

"14.0-inch, FHD (1920 x 1080) 16:9 aspect ratio, LED Backlit, 60Hz refresh rate, 250nits, 45% NTSC color gamut, Anti-glare display, Non-touch screen, (Screen-to-body ratio)83%

14.0-inch, FHD (1920 x 1080) 16:9 aspect ratio, IPS-level Panel, LED Backlit, 60Hz refresh rate, 250nits, 45% NTSC color gamut, Anti-glare display, Non-touch screen, (Screen-to-body ratio)83%"

is that the first option is a TN and the second is an IPS screen. they just apparently suck at answering in a clear way.

Thanks. The link resolves to my country specific Asus and there the only spec says

35.56cm (14), FHD (1920 x 1080) 16:9 aspect ratio, LED Backlit, 60Hz refresh rate, Anti-glare display, - (Screen-to-body ratio)83%

So I suppose it's TN

When talking about TN or IPS, we are referring to panel types. Liquid crystal inside those panels twist differently. In turn, you get different optical performance. TN panel can refresh faster, good for gaming. Yet IPS has better color and viewing angle.
Sometimes, you will hear the terms a-Si, LTPS or IGZO. They are related to silicon technology. Apple uses LTPS LCD in some of their products.
Here is a blog post about TFT LCD technology.

Hope this help.
