What is too much physical memory?

Checking for reasonable amount of physical memory. I am at 37%, is that a bad number? Should I add memory?

8 gigs is max you will need

"Too much" physical memory would be more than your system can use. MOBO, OS, etc., limits usable memory. The excess is wasted space.
