What kind of display for my evga 750ti

I am planing on buying a monitor for my pc
I have a couple question about the input i will need it to have.
so The 750TI has dual-link DVI, HDMI, and Displayport 1.2

I use the hdmi for my 41" 1080p TV

So that leaves me with dual link dvi, and display port 1.2

wich one is better for my monitor ?
what does dual link dvi mean?

I will be using my monitor for gaming and my tv for movies.

Any connection type will be fine. For a 1080p monitor, they will all be the same.
