What kind of DVI-D cable do I need?

I'm wondering what kind of cable I need for my monitor. My monitor supports DVI-D, and so does my GPU. Do I need male to female, male to male, etc? Please tell me

Male-male always, unless You want to extend the existing cable then a male-female for the extension which is less common.
