What kind of extender should I get for TP-Link TL-WN8200ND Wireless 300Mbps?

Hey guys!
I'm struggling to find a good extender to connect my TP-Link TL-WN8200ND to. I have a usb extension, which worked with another wireless adapter, but when I try to connect it to the TL-WN8200ND, it does connect to the computer but cannot get any signal from anything. Any idea what cable would be compatible with my TL-WN8200ND?

EDIT: Also, would a longer usb to mini A cable be better instead of connecting the existing one into an extender?

TL-WN8200ND is a USB wireless-N network and if you cannot connect to the main router, then the TL-WA860RE or TL-WA850RE would do the job of sitting half way to boost the signal.
