You should post full usage needs, portability priorities, etc though in order for useful thoughts.

I would buy a custom PC and build a hackingtosh for less money and have a better system, and be able to dual boot.

i really can't answer that without more info. I will say I wasn't as impressed by the Retina Display MacBook as I'd hoped.

Don't waste your money on the Retina display Macs, go for the other non-Retina ones. I had read that with the Retina ones, most apps don't even support resolutions that high, especially if you try to install Windows 7 on it via Bootcamp, it will have problems.

Could not agree more. As far as the new Mac Book Pro they are junk that you can't even upgrade the ram as it is soldered to the mainboard plus the SSD drive can't be upgraded as it is Apple proprietary.

Though I wouldn't recommend trying to upgrade the SSD on an IMac. Trying to do that yourself is just a silly undertaking and it takes for frikking ever.

OP, if you aren't trolling,

your current build is already a perfectly viable hackintosh (depending on what his graphics are).

I have the same motherboard (z68x-ud3h-b3) and it basically works out of the box with OSX Lion / Mountain Lion.
