Hi,

I've been searching the web for information on what makes a good wireless network adapter/card but had no luck in finding what I wanted. What are the specifications/characteristics that makes a wireless network adapter/card reliable and good, and could you recommend any that are cheap and reliable? I will be using it primarily for gaming in the following build:

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
Motherboard: ASRock B450 Pro4
Graphics Card: Asus GTX 1060 6gb Dual OC
RAM: Corsair Vengenace LPX DDR4-3000 2x8gb C15
PSU: Corsair RMx 550w
Case: ThermalTake Versa H24
SSD: Crucial MX500 500GB

Thanks in advance.

Too be honest, powerline adapters can do as bad. Depends on whether they are on the same group, the wiring in the house etc.

For some imo decent wireless adapters,
Asus USB-AC53 USB 2.0 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter vs. TP-Link Archer T4U USB 3.0 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter vs. Asus PCE-AC55BT B1 PCIe x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter vs. BrosTrend AC3 USB 3.0 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter - PCPartPicker
all usb 3.0 and have dualband capability ,for the brostrend did i see a pretty positive review.

A usb 2.0 still okay but with only the 2.4ghz band is this one,
TP-Link TL-WN822N USB 2.0 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter (TL-WN822N) - PCPartPicker

Do make sure to download the latest drivers from the makers site and with TP-Link...

I would recommend no wireless card primarily for gaming. The predictability of the performance of WIFI for something that requires consistent networking is too unreliable.
If you can't use an ethernet cable, then get powerline network adapters.
