What mobo would be the most ideal for upgrade.

I'm currently upgrading to a i7-4790k CPU w/ an MSI 980 GTX GPU, I'm undecided on what mobo I should aqcuire to fit. Requirements are DDR3, 1150 LGA socket type, price range 200-400$. Ideas would be lovely, thanks.

if you plan on overclocking then some of the better ones are the msi gaming 5/7, asus z97-a, and the asus maximus hero series. if you're not going to oc than any midrange z97 board that has the features you want would be fine.

I'd say an MSI Z97 Gaming 7/9, would look awesome paired with that MSI Gpu. 😉

Or if you want to go ALL-OUT then something like Maximus VII Formula (one of the best, if not the best LGA 1150 Motherboard available)
