My grandson bought a computer from Dell last year but he couldn't afford the flat monitor. I'd like to surprise him with one for Christmas. Is there info about his computer that I need to know before buying? I'm sure it was one of the economical models. Thanks

Knowing what graphics card he has will help us recommend the correct screen resolution.

If you are unsure which graphics card he has, download and run CPU-Z and select the Graphics tab. Tell us the name of the GPU and memory size listed.

and also check what kind of connector are you going to use for the video (VGA, DVI, HDMI) so you can make sure that the monitor has the proper connections, and cables for it.
