What Monitor should I get?

I've recently built my gaming PC, but the monitor I bought with it is disappointing in quality. I will return it for a full refund soon, but in the meantime, I need to work out what monitor to get.

At the moment, my screen's pixels are obvious, you can see each induvidual one when playing games and it is very distracting. The game looks too sharp despite FXXA and AA, and the colour is off. The quality is also noticeably low when on the desktop and browsing the web. Desktop backgrounds are a pain to look at as I see their potential shredded before me.

I'm looking for a screen with extreme HD picture, where I can barely see the pixels at all, with rich colour. Something like the iPhone 5s' screen, if you see what I mean. Response time to be at least 5 preferably.

Where can I go about finding such a monitor?

This is the ideal monitor for you.It has 5ms response time, it has IPS Display produces great colors with excellent viewing angles(178° H x 178° V).
It has very thin bezel(0.8mm).
Finally it is also good for gaming.

I looked at a lot of monitors wanting something with accurate colours suitable for games. I bought the Dell U2713HM and I can't recommend it highly enough. IPS panel, 2560x1440 resolution, 27" monitor. Colours are fantastic.
The closest equivalent from Asus is the PB278Q, which does look good but reviews state that the colour accuracy calibrated or out of the box is not as good as the Dell.

These are about as good as you are going to get for pixel pitch (how small each pixel is). There are 4K monitors available, but computers really aren't up to the task yet of gaming at this resolution. I suspect the issues with your current monitor are more about image quality. I had similar problems with an Asus VS278H. I returned it because I was horribly disappointed with it.

I appreciate the feedback guys, but I should probably specify some more.

My budget is £150-£200. If you are suggesting that IPS is what iPhone uses, I'd love a 23 / 24 inch screen of that. Response time being at 5 seems to be just fine as well.

this is a gaming monitor 1ms 144hz
you cannot compare phones with pc monitor as the may have the same pixel count but on only 4,5'' screens. they will always look better.if you want something higher pixel count and higher definition you need 1440p which is off your budget!
