Hi there community!

I am currently in the process of updating my system and since I only have decent understanding of all the technical terms, I'd like to ask for help. The update should not be too expensive, but worth.

What I'm planning to keep from my current system:

Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) XMP DDR3 1600MHz CL9

Corsair CX600W ATX 12V V2.3 & EPS 12V 2.01 / 40A / effi. 80% / 12 cm (about 4years old)

DVD Driver
Samsung EVO 850 500gb
2,0TB HDD Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 SATA 6.0Gbps 7200 rpm 64mb cache

What I'm planning to update to:

msi GTX 980 Ti (I can get this one for 320 $, almost new, which seems worth to me, since it's stronger than a 1070 but less expensive) (currently I have nVidia GeForce GTX 770 2,0GB DDR5 RAM)

new Motherboard, which one tho? (currently i have: ASUS Z87-K, ATX, Intel Z87, DMI-5GT/s, Intel LGA1150)

i7-7700K, what cooler for it? (currently I have: Intel Core i7-4770 (3500) Quad Core, Haswell, with this cooler: RTS2011LC)

a new case, probably the Phanteks Eclipse P400S

I'm looking forward to all your recommendations and I'd like to thank you very much in advance!

Best regards

Check my first link above, clearly states:

Memory (RAM)
While the exact amount of RAM you need is going to depend on the length, codec, and complexity of your project, for Premiere Pro we generally recommend a minimum of 32GB. Memory usage in Premiere Pro can quickly shoot up, however, so it is important that you ensure you have enough system RAM available. The exact amount you need will depend on exactly what you are doing, but we do have a general guideline depending on the different resolutions you work with:

Footage Resolution 1080p 4K 6K 8K+
Minimum RAM capacity 32GB 64GB 128GB 256GB+

Thanks for this enormously fast reply, I updated the post with further information.

The major usage is gaming and video(4k)/photography editing, but I dont think this will be a problem, as it already works smoothly on my current setup.

Budget is not really a restriction, which means, I'm willing to spend money for components which are worth it.

For 4k editing, best performance is I7-8700k and 64gb ram is required: https://www.pugetsystems.com/recommended/Recommended-Systems-for-Adobe-Premiere-Pro-143/Hardware-Recommendations.

New PSU is also recommended. CX600M is not very reliable.

A fast NVME SSD is also recommended: http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-960-Evo-NVMe-PCIe-M2-500GB-vs-Samsung-850-Evo-500GB/m204072vs3477

Thanks again, Sir!

Since I am using Proxies in Adobe Premiere Pro to edit my 4K Videos, I don't think 32gb RAM and i7-8700K is necessairy, since that would result in an upgrade which is much more pricey, for no additional benefit, don't you think?
Especially with the RAM, since I can save a whole 330$ if I just keep my current RAM.

What is your opinion on the 980 ti? Is it worth it for 320$ compared to a gtx 1070 ti which would be about 499$ (in my country: Switzerland)

Alright, can so I can go with the MSI Z370 GAMING PRO CARBON AC (LGA 1151, Intel Z370, ATX) instead of the AsRock one right?
