Hi, I'm trying to strengthen my rig, and I was wondering what kind of PSU I would need for a rig that includes:
Intel BX80684I78700K 8th Gen Core i7-8700K Processor

EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SSC GAMING ACX 3.0, 4GB GDDR5, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC) Graphics Card 04G-P4-6255-KR

Corsair Vengeance RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2666 (PC4-21300) C16 - Intel 100/200 Series PC memory CMR16GX4M2A2666C16

I also want to know if the CPU will fit my motherboard, the socket type is: 1151 LGA

Solution
For 8th gen compatibility we need more information on the motherboard besides the socket as currently only the Z370 boards support 8th gen cpus as the b310, b360 and h370 boards have not been released yet and the older 1xx and 2xx series boards will not work with 8th gen cpus.

What's the make and model of your motherboard? You should be looking at a Z370 chipsetted motherboard and along those lines, you should be looking at DDR4-3200MHz rams. Per your PSU request, you should be looking towards a 550W PSU to keep as headroom for holding onto the unit or a longer period of time and to help with your future overclocking endeavors. It also seems you intend to drop in a more beefy GPU later down the road.

Look for a unit that is as close to Tier 1 as possible.

I wasn't informed of your budget so I just laid it on :)

You need a Z370 board at this time for 8th Gen. :)
