Hi there, for a rough outline you can use this site, it's meant to be pretty reliable: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

However, for a more accurate idea, and something that I found very useful, read this and other things associated with it: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/314712-28-please-read-determine-power-required

A quick google for a good graphics card review tells me the total power draw for the card, under load, is around 403W, you can look this up elsewhere to get a better idea, but obviously that number will vary a bit depending on the other components in the build.

If you then look at the amperage you need on the 12V rail, calculated from the Tomshardware link, you can pick a suitable power supply. If the vendor you're purchasing from doesn't give information on the 12V rail amperage, most reviews have that number in them.

Hope this helps!

The wattage isnt the important part. It's the amperage. Nvidia recommends 42 amps on the 12v rail for the gtx 700, and they shoot a bit high. So, pick a good quality power supply that has at least 40 amps on the 12v rail :)

Try to find something in tier one or tier 2 on this list http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1925006/power-supply-tiered-list.html. The power supply isnt where you want to save money, if you buy a cheap one and malfunctions, it could damage a lot of other parts.

okayso after my research ive realised that cooler master is somewhat more expensive than the rest
so i think corsair would be good

can i manage with the corsair cx 500 form the 3rd tier

only if it is absolutely necessary can i move up to tier 2

and if necessary which one of the 3 will be the best option?

GS 600w
TX 650W
or TX 550M 80

what is the difference between the three?

and sorry for drifting away from the topic but since my expected budget has gone up due to the PSU could you suggest the cheapest cabinet and i dont care how the cabinet looks
thanks!

From these three could you just pick the cheapest option, they are all good psu's.

No i'm not,i'm Dutch. ;)

This one would probably do,but is a very budget minded model and i would recommend to go for at least the ocz.

First of all has the ts a limited choice.
Second of all a limited budgte from what i've read.
Third of all has efficiency nothing to do with it.With any quality psu would a certain amount off watts be good.Efficiency only matters for your electricity bill i.e. what gets pulled out of the wall socket.

alright so ive chosen the corsair gs 700w psu keeping a posibility of future sli in mind
but it just occured to me that if i use a 700 w psu but my power being used is just equal to say a 450 or 500 w psu
will i still get higher electricity bills as compared to say a 500w psu just because im using a 700w psu?
