Hello guys so recently I got a GTX 660 for my PC and I noticed that after long gaming periods 2/3 hours my games's textures start flying everywhere so far It only happens in League Of Legends during like the 30 minute mark and in Path Of Exile.
My specs are:
CPU:intel core 2 quad q6600
Mobo:Gygabite GA-EP45-DS3L http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2844#ov
RAM:4GB Kingston
I know its an old PC and I wonder if you guys know how I can solve my problem if I can solve it at all without getting a new GPU
Also both of my HDDs one of them has 1tb and the other 200gb they both make unbearable sound and I hear scratching sounds when under high load.

Also everytime I restart my computer it seems to fix itself for the time being

Thanks for taking the time to read this :).

I am running a program called Guru3D while playing and I don't really notice any high temps..also I tried lowering down the settings and it seems to have stopped.
I tried it on my friend's rig he has a 4770k and a Maximus VI Mobo and he was able to play dying light and far cry for like 3 hours without any problems... maybe my motherboard is dieing or its because I have PCI 2.0?

not because of pcie 2.0 for sure.
these are the possible reasons:
1. Overheating
2-defective GPU
3-defective memory
4-Not enough power supplied to the card.
5-pretty high overclock

You should check on your system with another ram module , kingston isnt really the best quality. ALso you have not mentioned the PSU in your system.

I have a 470W Thermaltake PSU
Also if its not the PSU's fault is there anyway I can fix it myself without having to return it? there are no EVGA 660 superoverclocked in the place I got it from and I really like this card,if I do return it they might give me back my money or tell me I can get another 1 that I choose +/- the differnece

Yeah but before I had this one I had a 560 ti and it worked fine, and Ive read on the internet that the 560ti uses more than the 660 so it couldn't be the PSU now could it? :heink:

install msi afterburner, turn on temp monitoring in the OSD

play your game, easy to see if it is overheating

The most it reached it was 73 and that was on War Thunder...game wich I never had issues with. On League Of Legends the problem is most common and I as I had it running it started at about 53 degrees so I don't think its the temperature

I tried moving the games I had problems on on my 1tb hdd that doesn't make any sound and it seems to have stopped the issue I will keep you up to date if anything weird happens again
