Current Computer:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 Six-Core 3.5 GHz (will be upgraded to Fx-8350)
Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme4
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
Storage: http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Caviar-Black-WD1001FALS/dp/B001C271MA (1 TB Western Digital SATA II Drive)
Graphics: Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 2GB GDDR5 (being upgraded to HD 7970)
Case: Cooler Master Elite 430
PSU: Dynex 520-Watt ATX PSU
Optical: Taken from an old computer, standard DVD-RW drive
Monitor: Dell E2311H
OS: Windows 8 64-bit - OEM

I was recently told to upgrade my PSU, which I agree with fully, and while they gave me a suggestion, I was wondering if there was a better choice. The main problem is that I have no idea what kind of power my system needs, or will need, so I can't decide accordingly.

I'm deciding between:
XFX Core Edition Pro550W ($70)
SeaSonic M12II 620W ($80)
XFX Pro750W XXX Edition ($110)
Silencer Mk III Series 750W ($140)

Thanks in advance.

It's good for future-proofing, but not really necessary. I do agree with him, get a better brand of PSU like Corsair.

I won't be using crossfire, and will not be O'Cing for a long while, so is a 750W unit necessary? If Blaise is correct in saying my system only uses about 350W currently, then his reccomended Corsair 500W should fit the bill, correct?

Alright, thank you both for the input, I'll be getting one of the Corsair units you mentioned then.
