Hello,

I currently have a Corsair 750w PSU for my current setup

ASUS Sabertooth Z77
Intel I7 3770k
AMD Radeon 6950
16GB CORSAIR Vengeance RAM
1TB HDD
ARCTIC Freezer Xtreme Rev. 2

I am wanting to replace the 6950 with crossfired R9 280x TRI OC Graphics card, and also a Hyper X SSD, what PSU do you think will be needed to handle all this or will I be able to stick with my current one.

Solution
Recommended wattage for CF 280x is 900w. You could use a quality 850w, like the newer Hx850i if you want to remain with Corsair, but I'd definitely not use the RM. Best bet would be the Evga 1000 G2 which is very well priced for its capabilities.

R9 280X Crossfire require a quality 900W PSU with 45Amps or more on +12V rail.

You can stick with 750W only if you're going to have one R9 280X, which it could easily handle. Don't even "THINK" of R9 280X CF.

A single R9 280X only requires a 600W PSU with 30Amps on +12V rails.

you would be better off just getting a single r9-290 right now and waiting for the next generation cards to be released soon. at that point you can either upgrade to a single more powerful card that will be faster than 280x cfx or just get another r9-290 at a reduced price.

i dont currently see any decent prices for 280x's…. they are all aboe $190. you can get a sapphire tri-x 290 for $240 and its more than worth the 30% more performance over the 280x at those prices.
