I recently purchased an XFX RX 580 8GB to replace my RX 570 4gb.. but my psu only has a 6 pin and the rx580 requires an 8 pin. What PSU should I buy that has an 8 pin?(there is one 8 pin/2x4 pin connector but it's plugged into my motherboard.)

Most PSUs up to 600 watts are more than reasonably priced; I've used a $55 Corsair CX600 (semi-modular) for about 24 months with not a stutter for my 7700K/GTX1060 combo, and I'd much rather have 200-300 watts to spare to allow for a better GPU in the future than worry about losing 4-5% 'efficiency'....

Many have advocate getting barely enough PSU (tyically, 430/450 watt units) for anticipated load....; where does that now leave people pondering the Radeon7 with it's 300 watt peak power requirements? ANswer: they can't consider it without yet a new PSU

It can be. I ran a Power color RX580 in my main rig while my primary card was RMA'd. With my 8700k I was seeing the system use 500w under full load. While your cpu is a bit less power hungry you will still be running that PSU on the edge and if thats not a good quality PSU(you never posted mthe make and model of the PSU) it could end very baddly. If the PSU is overloaded best case is the PSU will simply just shutdown, worst case scenario the PSU goes skitzo and starts killing other parts.

It's an AcBel 450w 80+ Bronze

I would not use that to power an RX 580. I'm surprised it managed to even power a 570. I have yet to see any acbel that can deliver anything close to is advertised wattage where it counts. For example the Acbel iPower 450w PSU can only deliver 360w where it counts which is not enough for your system with a RX580. There are some more 450w ACbels that max at 300w on the 12v rail.

Wow that's crazy, I guess I'll just buy a new PSU on Amazon. All the parts I have except the cooler, ram, case, and fans, are from a prebuilt I purchased about a year ago. Lenovo Legion Y720T

Wow, and yeah I'm in the US.
