what ram should I upgrade to with the alienware x51 r2? and is ddr4 compatible with my computer

I want to upgrade to 16 gigabites. I currently have TWO ports with both 4 gig cards combining into 8. the cards are ddr3 ram. are ddr4 cards compatible?
