Hello everyone, I am new to the site and discovered it just today while using google to search for options on what to replace my current HDD with.
I know I would love to have a 1TB SSD drive but the cost of that is just way too expensive.
As I was looking for other options I came across a SSHD which seems to be a good alternative?
Am I understanding that it has the characteristics of both the HDD and SSD but better pricing?

I was hoping to get some help on what to get.
I don't know if having 2 drives would be better but my laptop currently has 500GB HDD and I would like to increase to at least 1TB.
The whole reason why I am even looking is because my current hard drive is failing, slow, choppy, ran checkdsk and has bad sectors tries to repair and it sometimes helps but ends up failing again. I know it is going to fail and I need to get it replaced.
Also Do I need to have certain software in order to transfer all my programs and what not from this drive to the new drive? I don't have an actual windows 7 install cd. All I have is the disks that came with my computer and there is a key on the bottom of my laptop. Says Microsoft with a bunch of numbers etc.
I am wanting fast and reliable. I use my computer for gaming, school, entertainment etc..
here is my laptop.
