what router should i get?

Should I get the Asus RT-N12 D1 IEEE 802.11n? Or save up for a more expensive router like the
Asus RT-AC66U IEEE 802.11ac?
There is 4 people using the router and I do a lot of gaming.

Im connected to ASUS 2 , How do you use 2.4ghz and 5ghz?

When I restart my router buy unpluging it , the internet doesn't connect so I have to re-do everything as if I get it Factory new , how can I prevent that? Do I just restart it by clicking the reboot button?
