What Ryzen CPU to pick

Hi, I am planning to upgrade my CPU. I currently have a Ryzen 5 1500X, and I want to upgrade to either a Ryzen 5 2600X or a Ryzen 7 1700X. Does anyone know which is better? The computer will be mainly used for gaming. My gpu is a gtx 1080.

I would personally go with the Ryzen 5 option as it has 3.6GHz clock speed rather than 3.4Ghz. Also, it will probably be a better option as it is more recent as well as the fact that it has the new Zen Architecture.

2600x is best of those, it's automatic boost works better and still has enough cores. It should boost to anywhere between 4.15 - 4.2 GHz on all cores. None of first series can do that without serious OC.
