Hello there people, so the past few months i've been lagging in alot of games and that has stopped me from playing, so i was wondering what you guys think i should upgrade for better fps, since i don't have too much knowledge.
I also have my CPU GFX and Memory overclocked, but not a great increase in fps.

I mainly play Rust where even on ultra low graphics i run 50 fps and 40 on servers with a lot of entities.
I would think my cpu should be upgraded, but im not quite sure.

Why should i upgrade my motherboard, does it affect fps in gaming?
Because it's ancient technology by today's standards. While just a CPU upgrade is possible (FX 8350/FX9590 etc...), it is NOT recommended and provides only a minimal performance increase. Since that path is not recommended, a new motherboard is required for newer CPUs.

If i buy a CPU for the motherboard i have now does the cpu cooling i have now fit it or does it need to be replaced. It is a Nepton 120XL watercooled.
