im going to build new gaming pc for next gen games like the witcher gta v ac unity and other games and im not sure about the gpu, in really confused between the gtx 980 ti from nvidia or the asus strix 980 from asus, i have seen some benchmarks of these too and i dont realy know the difference, some say that the asus strix heats less than the gtx 980 ti and some say that the 980 ti is not for gaming and its more for video editing and stuff like that, and the difference with the money is not much (its like 150$) so should i get the asus strix or the gtx 980 ti??
pls help me

Both are gaming video cards. The Nvidia GTX 980 Ti is a reference card. Nothing fancy, just powerful right out of the gate. The Asus strix GTX 980 is a slightly smaller version of the Nvidia GTX 980 Ti but... it likely has been factory overclocked and has a better cooler, giving it similar performance numbers. If I were you, I would go with the cheaper one since you really wont see a lick of difference (in performance) between these two GPUs, at 1920x1080p resolutions.

thanks for helping, but i heard that if the gpu is cooler you get better performance, and 150$ is not much, is the 150$ worth the better cooling system with the 3 fans and the overclock?

@Edris1e, generally I only like the GTX 970 and GTX 980 Ti. These cards are below and above the performance of the GTX 980 respectively. If you're planning on gaming at 1080p @ 60 Hz then I think the GTX 970 is a great match. If you're your monitor is has a 144 Hz (refresh rate) then that's another conversation. I personally had a GTX 970 on a 1920 x 1200 resolution monitor and it was great. Then I upgraded my video card to a 980 Ti, on the same resolution, simply because I wanted to and anticipated in me upgrading monitors within the next few months. Honestly, when I upgraded to the 980 Ti on my 1920 x 1200 monitor, essentially 1080p, I found that enabling vsync was necessary.

You may want to start a new message thread seeking help with your entire build, including your budget and what you're looking to achieve. Are you only planning on gaming, or do you plan on doing content creation. This site is the preferred one to post build suggestions: http://pcpartpicker.com/

Addendum: The 970 archived slightly less than 60 FPS in Witcher 3 and GTA 5, but the 980 over produced frames. But again, you might want to ask for help with your entire build. Up to you.
