What should I buy?

Hello everyone! I have a huge problem of what should I buy. I have a pentium g3258 and an asus r7 260x 2gb. My gpu have horrible problems with blackscreens and bluescreens. So I want to get rid of this gpu and go for a gtx 960 2gb. But the problem is that my g3258 have a small problem with gta and skype. Gta v is using too much cpu and I cant talk in skype with my friends while Im playing gta.

So I need your opinion of what should I do. Buy a gtx 960 and get rid of the blue/black screen problem or buy a cpu? Its so important to me because I will not upgrade anything else again in the near future.


{Note} g3258 doesnt have so much usage in other games.

Hi, I would recommend upgrading your CPU, If you give me your full system specs I can recommend and upgrade of just the CPU. Your GPU is quite good and will still play most games if not all on medium to low settings.

Intel Pentium G3258 (no oc) 3.2ghz
Asus r7 260x 2gb (no oc)
Kingston 2x4 8gb ram 1600mhz
Gigabyte Ga-h81m-hd3
Thermaltake smart SE 530W

Well I think you didnt see what I said about the gpu. Yes It can quite well play new games at medium-high setting but its full of problems that I want to get rid of. Problems like

Blackscreens when I try to call someone or get called on skype, or when I alt tab/close a game. That causes me to restart the computer and I cant get on skype.
Bluescreens of deatheverytime when I try to connect second time in a call sometimes on skype etc.

As you can understand its annoying as hell. But in the other side I would like a new more powerfull cpu. I just dont know what I should do.

Your issue with back/bluescreens could be down to driver issues. Have you had a clean install of windows and updated graphics drivers since this started happening?

It depends how much money you are willing to spend on upgrades really, Are you in a big rush to get something new or are you happy to wait for a bit and see what you can get once you've saved a bit more money?

Use DDU tool (to uninstall the drivers for your GPU). Once it's done, reboot your PC and install new drivers.

Make sure you already downloaded newer GPU drivers before uninstalling old ones.

Tried all the fixes, driver thing first it's always what they tell you and it probably works in some cases but I learned this : if updating drivers doesn't change anything then try changing/testing the RAM. For me it was a faulty RAM string, since I removed it I have no more problems. As it's corsair it's guaranteed still so no problem at all

Yes I tried to unistall them and install them again, Its the same problem. Also in bluescreens this is the message STOP: 0x00000116

When you say you put another one ? You mean you removed the old one and put a new instead or just you kept the old and added another so now you have 2 sticks ?

Because if you kept the old and it's not working properly adding a new one won't solve it I'm afraid.

If you have completely new RAM then you're right it's not the problem and I can't help more, sorry 🙁

I tried it today for the second time and nothing happens. I think Im gonna buy a new gpu,

I kept the old and I puted an another (same) stick . Its not a ram problem, rams are working well.

How old is your GPU? Could possibly still be covered under warranty. If you are thinking of going GPU they should be some great deals with new lines of cards coming out very soon. The likes of 970's are very cheap considering the performance they offer.

I found out that the model of this card is having problems to everyone. Its 7months old. I ordered a gigabyte gtx960 2gb and I am waiting to be deliverd . Thanks for your time!
