I have a rx 580 at the moment and I have $280 to drop on a gpu. I’m thinking about getting a gtx 1660 ti but I was wondering if there’s a better gpu I could get for $280?

Solution
Perhaps it might be worth waiting a bit, as AMD is rumored to be launching new graphics cards around this price range "soon", even if little is known about them yet. I'm not expecting performance on par with a 2060 or anything, but a card performing somewhere in-between a 1660 Ti and a 2060 seems possible, and if that pans out, it might also potentially put pressure on Nvidia to drop the 2060 closer to $300. Nvidia will also apparently be launching a 1660 SUPER soon, presumably to better compete with AMD's upcoming cards, and while I only expect that card to perform roughly in-between a 1660 and a 1660 Ti, if the pricing is not much more than the current 1660, the 1660 Ti might see somewhat lower prices as well.
It's not a bad way to go, but if you save up 100$ more you could get a 5700XT. I'd recommend saving up a bit more since games are becoming more and more demanding, you're gonna need an upgrade again sooner than later if you get a 1660. Besides the 580 will last you another year at most, so you have time to save up.
