What should I upgrade? 300-400 euros

Hi guys!
I believe I need an upgrade.
My current rig is this:
i5 2300 2.8ghz
1tb wd hdd
gtx 660 oc
430w psu
asus P8H61-M motherboard
8gb of ram
It's running a little slow and the cpu fan really needs to be replaced, it's making some weird noise.
I would like a fast and quiet system that can run games on medium settings. I don't need to max the newest games. My current budget is 300 euros but i could stretch it up to 400. I will not upgrade my gpu since it is brand new, previously had a gtx 430.

first off i would get an SSD, then take a look at maybe upgrading to an i5 2500k and overclocking it, then go for a beefier PSU, your current setup should run fine just now, unless your running off a 4k monitor running arma 3 at max

Thank you murray. In my country, the 2500k is more expensive than the 4670k. 32 euros more expensive. Which one should I get?

i would definitely go with the 4670k, newer architecture and faster. Though you will have to upgrade your motherboard

Right i forgot it was 1150. How do you feel about a fx 6300 and a nice mobo? could get that for 200. Or a 3570 or 4570? I will not overclock anything so i guess i dont need a "k" model.
I've no idea on overclocking and i'm afraid i'd mess it up

yeh the 6300 is good, but i dont see it being any different from what you have just now, what is the performance issues your experienceing

slow boot times, crashes when using control panel and lately a "boot mgr is missing" oh and cpu temps over 60 degrees celsius, not to forget some noise

an SSD will solve your problem, get one and build a fresh copy of windows, all your troubles will dissapear

take a look at the Crucial M500's

Except the slow boot times everything is software related and not hardware related.

I will upgrade to better 600W PSU and a 256gb SSD
