Hey everybody, I just got myself a new GPU (GTX 1660 6GB). I had to get a RTX 2060, but it just sold out before me, so I decided to go the budget way. I was wondering, should I upgrade my processor or RAM next and to what. Here are my current specs: i7-4770 3.4GHz, 16GB DDR3 1600mhz, Asus Z-97 Pro Motherboard, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 6GB.

I mostly play esport and fps games, so I am not interested in anything like God of War, Far Cry or Red Dead Redemption etc.
Thanks yall in advance!

Minimum motherboard price is about $70/70 Euro
Minimum CPUs worth buying are about 100
You will need DDR4 at least, though DDR5 may be the better option for future use. About 40 for 16GB, about 80 for 32GB.

i3-12100F
B660/B760/Z690 motherboards can be found relatively cheap.
2x8GB DDR5 is a little weird, so I recommend 2x16GB so you don't have to mess with it.

Depending on your power supply and chassis, you may need even more things.

Suggested parts if at 1080P and need a new PSU.
No cut corners here.
