Hello, I am just contemplating what to do with my PC. It's got quite out of date, old hardware but it's getting quite of a let down even on Minecraft (Which is a quite minimum game).

My specs at the moment are;
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600)
System Model: VC913AA-ABU CQ5115UK
BIOS: BIOS Date: 05/06/09 11:31:10 Ver: 5.39
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
Memory: Duel Channel, DDR2 6GBs
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6870 (1GB GDDR5)
HDDS: ST3500320AS 500GB (OS on this I think) , WDC WD5000AAKS-65A7B2

Just not sure what to replace out of the machine.

Try turning off VBO's. That should help.
My answer is always the same, add an SSD. There's life before and after the SSD, your PC will boot up in seconds. Doesn't do much for gaming but does improve the whole PC experience. Plus doing a fresh reinstall of the OS will clear out all that trash on your PC.

And obviously for gaming a new GPU all depending on your budget, I have a GTX960 2GB, cost about $200, i just finished DA Inquisition on max with no issues so it's a solid card.

Well for example, modded minecraft packs that I've been playing recently, I've noticed that I can put all the video settings up to as high as they can go but I don't get FPS lag, I get some other sort of lag. But I guess I could get a new GPU but what I was thinking is just replacing the motherboard, ram and cpu but I'm not an expert.

Also how do I change to discussion?
