Greetings, finished building my pc in 2016 and im wondering when should i upgrade, the specs are:
MB Asus h97 pro gamer
RAM 2x8 gb ripjaws1600mhz
CPU i7 4790k/noctua nhd15
GPU msi gaming x gtx 1070
PSU corsair rm750i

I have no issues gaming at 1080p and im happy with the current performance, should i save money for 1or 2 years and then buy whatever **60 nvidia has at the time, surely will outperform my 1070, or should i upgrade the cpu first? Thank you.

Hello,

First of all we do not know your aim. Playing mmo's? Playing single player games? I myself mostly a single player so i care more about detail than 240fps stuff. Do you want to see more detail? Stream while gaming? Better colors?

You did not write about your peripherals. Just to give you an idea, i just switched from 9 year old 1080p monitor to a 21:9 one and my world changed. If you have excess money to spend to, also think the other options which may better your pc experience. Sometimes a new Sound system, a monitor, even a keyboard mouse can be more effective than ram/GPU/Cpu stuff :D

I highly suggest reading about monitors, lately lots of good options are coming.

@alithegreat my monitor is a samsung syncmaster s22b300 , cheap speakers and kb+ mouse, i play mostly single player games, metro exodus dirt rally 2.0 dark souls 3,dishonored 2 , sometimes planetside 2 company of heroes 2

Well now you have something to upgrade, get a 24 or 27" better monitor, good speakers and keyboard and mouse. The interface to the computer is just as important as the performance. Fast video card is useless if you have a bad monitor to show the output to you and using a clanky cheap keyboard is also no fun.

For the games you play, using an IPS screen should be fine, and it will seem like you got a whole new computer. If you have the space for it, this 27" has 1440 resolution which is good for your video card https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX...scsubtag=59d5b4e3-f19a-4329-862e-a395e161cb63 Or Dell SE2717HR model for 27" at 1080

If you can't fit a 27", this 25" one is also good https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VRKVGJG/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1 or get a 1080 24" one like Dell - S2419NX.

That last Dell may actually be pretty good upgrade, it's not too expensive, can go to 75hz refresh rate and a 5ms response time which is pretty good for an IPS screen and plenty for non-pro gaming.
